Thanks for visiting www.inquirystudio.org. We're a small US business that creates resources for teachers and families. This policy explains, in plain language, what information our website collects, why, and the choices you have.

The short version

• We collect only what you choose to send us (such as your name and email, or a contact message), plus the standard cookies and basic site stats that come with our Wix-hosted site.
• We use it to send our email lists, answer your messages, and keep the site running well.
• We don't sell your personal information.
• You can unsubscribe, or ask us to see, fix or delete your information, at any time through our Contact page.

Who we are

The Inquiry Studio makes curriculum for middle and high school teachers, along with books, merch and other resources for teachers and families. Our website doesn't sell anything or take payments. It links to the shops where our products are sold.

What we collect

Information you give us

• Our email lists: When you sign up, we collect your first name and email address. Kit, our email service, sends you a confirmation email, and you're added only after you confirm.
• Contact form: When you write to us, we collect what you enter, such as your name, email address and message.

Information collected automatically

Our site is hosted by Wix, which uses its standard cookies and basic site statistics. This can include your browser and device type, IP address, pages you visit and the site that referred you. We don't add any other analytics tools, advertising pixels or tracking.

How we use your information

• To send our email lists, with teaching ideas, free resources and updates
• To reply to your questions and messages
• To see which pages are helpful and improve the site
• To keep the site secure and working properly
• To meet legal obligations if we ever need to

Cookies are small files saved by your browser. Our site uses the cookies Wix sets for hosting, security and basic site stats. Our sign-up form is provided by Kit, which may set its own cookies. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the site should still work, though some features may not work as smoothly.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal information, and we don't share it for advertising.

We share information only with service providers that help us run the site and send email, and only so they can do that work:

• Wix, which hosts our website and Contact form
• Kit (formerly ConvertKit), which stores our email lists and sends our emails, under Kit's privacy policy (https://kit.com/privacy)

We may also share information if the law requires it, or to protect the rights and safety of our business or others.

Outside shops and links

Our site links to other sites, including the shops we link to, such as TPT, Amazon and Fourthwall. When you click through, you leave our website. Those sites have their own privacy policies, and any purchase you make is handled entirely by that shop.

Children's privacy

Our website is meant for adults, such as teachers and parents. It isn't directed to children, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from children under 13, in line with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). If we learn we've collected information from a child under 13, we will delete it. Parents or guardians can reach us through our Contact page.

How long we keep information

• Email lists: kept with Kit while you're subscribed. If you unsubscribe, we keep your email address marked as unsubscribed so you aren't emailed again. If you'd like it deleted completely, just ask.
• Contact messages: only as long as we need to respond and keep reasonable records.
• Site stats: kept according to Wix's standard settings.

We may keep some information longer if the law requires it.

How we protect it

Wix and Kit use industry-standard security measures, and we limit access to what's needed to run our business. No online service is 100% secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect what you share with us.

Your choices and rights

You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email. You can also ask us to:

• See the personal information we have about you
• Correct anything that's wrong
• Delete your information

To make a request, use our Contact page. We may need to confirm it's you first, and we won't treat you differently for asking.

State privacy rights: Some states, such as California, give residents specific privacy rights, like the right to know, correct or delete personal information and to opt out of its sale. We're based in South Carolina, but we're glad to honor these requests from anyone, wherever you live.

Visitors outside the US

We're based in the United States. If you visit from outside the US, your information will be processed in the US or wherever our service providers operate, where privacy laws may differ from yours.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we'll post the new version here and update the effective date.
